Women are Fighting Back
What do Republicans mean by "family values"? From what I can tell, "family values" stands for the Christian Right's interpretation of the Bible, whereby the father is the head of the family and his wife must play second fiddle. The ramblings of sanctimonious Santorum and the current wave of anti-abortion and anti-contraception laws make this clear.

The World According to Santorum
For months we were exposed to the ridiculous criticisms of Obama by Republican Mitt Romney. After Romney was fiercely attacked by fellow Republicans and their super PACs, the Catholic Bishops decided to change the subject from money to religion. As a result, Rick Santorum zoomed in the polls and Republican plutocrats are extremely unhappy.

Bush-type War-Mongering
Way back in 2003, President George W. Bush and his neoconservative friends wanted regime change in Iraq. So they embarked upon an all-out propaganda push for War in Iraq. It succeeded. We attacked, even though Iraq did not have "weapons of mass destruction." Today, a new regime-change propaganda wave is being advanced by the same paranoids with reference to Iran. If we're not careful, we'll be dragged into another horrible catastrophe.

Four Republican candidates are seeking to replace Obama as president. These 4 Republican candidates state that the most important goal is to get rid of Barack Obama. Up to recently, these four Republican candidates offered the lousy economy as the big reason for electing a Republican. Now that the economy is improving, Republicans are searching for an issue.

My Religion Says
Catholic Bishops say that their religion does not allow contraceptives. They should not be forced to provide contraceptives to Catholic-run-hospital workers. So President Obama offers an accommodation that allows Catholic-hospital workers to obtain contraceptives directly from insurance companies and not from Catholic employers. Bishops indignantly say "NO."

Norquist-ism
Mitt Romney is running for president of the U.S. Rick Santorum is running for president of the U.S. So are Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. Grover Norquist is not running, but if any of these Republicans are elected, the real president will be Grover Norquist. Why? Because Republicans don't believe in conservatism or libertarianism, but in Norquist-ism.

The Youth Appreciate Obama
Why is it that too many adults don't understand Barack Obama? Republicans are afraid of him, but don't know why. So they bluster about birth certificates, Islam, socialism and "otherness." Liberal Democrats don't trust him. So they criticize Obama as not being liberal enough. But the kids are smarter than their parents: they understand and appreciate Obama.

Money Madness is Killing Democracy
The Citizens United decision has unloosed a flood of money in the campaign. Super-rich people have formed groups who flooded the airwaves with negative ads. The situation has become so intolerable that even Republicans are complaining. Because the president believes that Obama haters may raise half-a-billion dollars or more to defeat him, he has agreed to having his own super-PAC.

Is Anyone Worried about Climate Change?
Long ago - actually, a few short years ago - Americans were concerned about climate change, or what is more generally called global warming. Remember Al Gore? Remember the urgency provoked by his award winning "Inconvenient Truth"? Today, the urgency has disappeared. In its stead we are bombarded with references to a global-warming "hoax" and with daily attacks on the EPA. Why?

Keep Hope Alive
The hope that Obama instigated during the 2008 campaign has been dissipated by the so-called jobless recovery following the 2008 depression. Though he managed to increase jobs for 23 months straight, improve our healthcare system, repair our dysfunctional financial system, kill Osama bin Laden and destroy Al Qaeda, many have lost hope for the transformation Obama promised.
