We Don't Agree, But...

Job Outsourcing is BIG Issue

Even though the economy is improving, a majority of would-be American voters feel insecure about their jobs. They think their jobs may be outsourced; and if not outsourced, they will most likely be downsized, with reduced wages.

With respect to job outsourcing, I picked up this quote about the upcoming presidential election from The Times of India:

"As many as 68 per cent of respondents said American jobs and foreign competition will be the major determining factor and another 22 per cent consider it somewhat important, according to a poll released Friday by the news magazine, Newsweek."

68% + 22% = 90%, who are concerned with jobs! A liability for Republicans, if I ever saw one. Democrats should milk this issue assiduously.

Here is another quote about jobs, this one from American Samizdat:

"Are you ready for this? The BLS says that the bulk of U.S. job growth over the next decade will be in low-paid nontradable services that do not require a college education."

In other words, even those jobs still available in the U.S. will be low wage jobs.

The Bush administration has followed policies that help Big Business at the expense of the ordinary American. Big Business is finding ways to ship good jobs overseas where salaries are lower, and to form poor jobs domestically to assure American employment spending is reduced. Unless stopped, Big Business will destroy the American economy for those who work for a livng.

The destruction of American jobs is a BIG issue. By presenting as many ideas as possible for solving this problem to the public, we Democrats can elect a Democratic president, be it Kerry or Edwards.
