- AGRICOLA Web Gateway--NAL*
Run by the US National Agricultural Library, the largest agricultural library in the world, this site enables you to access the AGRICOLA
(AGRICultural OnLine Access) database. It is excellent for bibliographic research on plant and animal sciences, forestry, entomology, soil and water resources, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, agricultural products, alternative farming practices, and food and nutrition.
- California Digital Library -
Users can access the online library catalogs of the
University of California system, as well as an array of digital resource, such as indexes and databases, electronic journals and texts, archival finding aids, and digitized photographs and images. Mostly for faculty and students, but some available for others.

- Comprehensive directory of legal libraries and legal information
- Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library - a good list of engineering resources useful for all types of engineers
- Library of Congress* - Extremely useful library. If it were commercial it would be an excellent "Leading Learning Fountain"
- Melvyl Catalogue - Telnet://melvyl.ucop.edu - access the catalog that stores information about books in the all University of California libraries. It's easy to prepare a bibliography on any subject, determine which library has these books, and then go access them. But available only to those with Telnet capability.
